Maegan Hodge Nieves
Maegan represents the firm’s growing immigration law practice. Her primary practice is removal defense and immigration litigation where she advocates for individuals facing removal from the United States.
Having served as a criminal defense attorney for two years at the Washinton County Public Defender’s Office, Maegan has extensive experience successfully litigating cases in front of judges and juries with favorable outcomes.
Maegan graduated from Tulane University School of Law in 2020, where she was sworn in as a student-attorney for the Domestic Violence Clinic, was a law clerk for the Orleans Public Defenders, and earned her certificate in International and Comparative Law. She served on the Public Interest Law Foundation to provide scholarships for public interest interns and law clerks. She also served on the Tulane Inn of Court as an active student member and presenter advocating for higher prosecutorial standards specifically during the post-conviction relief process.
Maegan is a native of Northwest Arkansas and went to Springdale Har-Ber High School. Thereafter, she earned her B.A. in secondary Spanish education at Ouachita Baptist University. Upon graduation, Maegan taught Spanish and English in Northwest Arkansas and Madrid, Spain before going to law school.
Maegan served on the 2021-2022 Second Public Service Academy in Arkansas, is a member of the Arkansas Bar Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and the Association of Arkansas Women Lawyers. Currently, Maegan serves on the Board of Directors of the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas, a local non-profit organization.
When Maegan is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, and volunteering with the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas.
Maegan is licensed to practice law in Arkansas and in all immigration courts.
Maegan is advanced in her Spanish fluency.
